After 20 years of Aquatic World Awareness Responsibility And Education, the new Project AWARE has launched! Project AWARE has a re-focused mission, a new logo, and a new website.
(from the new site)
We’re focusing in on two major ocean issues –Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, or trash in our ocean. Truly, there are many conservation issues converging on our ocean planet at once, but we’re concentrating on these serious problems where scuba divers are uniquely positioned to directly and positively affect real, long-term change in these two areas.
For more information about the change, please view the new Project AWARE FAQ (pdf)
The new site is different from anything Project AWARE (or PADI) has done before. You can create an account (using your Google, FB or LinkedIn info if you want) and post events, clean-up data and dive site info. Visit the Project AWARE Action Zone to get started.
The new site is also a resource for PADI Members. Share your events and projects or support other PADI Members in their efforts. PADI Instructor News reader Camille Lemmens in Thailand (hi Camille!) is featured as part of the new website launch.
Congrats to our friends at Project AWARE. Here’s to the next 20 years!
